We
realize how difficult it is to see how you look when you view
yourself with new frames in a mirror without your prescription
lenses.
|
|
By
using a digital camera to take your photo while trying on different
frames, you can see how you look on our computer monitor, in
focus with the aid of your prescription lenses.

Why
Get Your Glasses From Your Optometrist? |
|
|
|
|
|
After
a comprehensive eye examination to determine the correct prescription, your
optometrist makes a number of other decisions to ensure you have the proper
eyewear to suit your lifestyle. You only receive the full benefit of your prescription
if your eyewear is properly fitted. |

All
eyewear is not created equal and getting a "bargain" price does not
mean you are receiving a good value by any means. Your optometrist has the advantage
of offering glasses from a variety of different reputable labs in order to guarantee
quality eyewear. Unlike many retail vision chains and optical stores, your optometrist
is not limited to only specified manufacturers. |

One
of the nicest things about acquiring your eyeglasses from your optometrist is
knowing the "true" cost of your eyewear. Retail optical channels may
have tremendous markups and the actual cost of your glasses will never be disclosed
to you. At Dr. Bauman & Associates, you are protected from misleading pricing
by an itemized bill. Your itemized bill contains the actual cost of your glasses,
there is no markup. To cover the cost of professional services involved in preparing
and fitting your glasses, a simple dispensing fee is charged and itemized on
your bill along with the manufacturers cost of your eyewear. Optometric dispensing
staff are trained to provide the same high standards of professional care you
have come to expect from your optometrist. |

Lose

"My
glasses are too heavy" or "My glasses are leaving red marks on my
nose" are frequently heard complaints. High index spectacle lenses can
reduce the thickness of your lenses, plus make them a little lighter and better
looking. If you are interested in weight reduction, ask us about high index
lenses for your spectacle prescription on your next visit. |

Caring
For Your Glasses |
|
|
|
|
DO'S |
|
|
DON'TS |
|
|
|
- Clean
your glasses regularly with warm water and a mild liquid soap or lens cleaner.
Pat the lens dry with a clean cloth.
- Keep
your glasses in your eyeglass case when not in use.
- Put
on and remove your glasses using two hands to maintain proper frame alignment.
|
|
- Do
not set your glasses down lens first.
- Do
not use hairspray or perfume mist around your eyewear.
- Do
not clean your glasses with facial tissues (the coarse fibers can damage
coated lenses).
- Do
not use ammonia based cleaners (e.g. Windex) as they may strip the lens
coating.
